Brian Harold May, CBE (born 19 July 1947) is an English musician, singer, songwriter and astrophysicist best known as the lead guitarist of the rock band Queen. He uses a home-built electric guitar, called the Red Special. His compositions for the band include "We Will Rock You", "Tie Your Mother Down", "I Want It All", "Fat Bottomed Girls", "Flash", "Hammer to Fall", "Save Me", "Who Wants to Live Forever" and "The Show Must Go On".

Although, Brian May boasted original compose music Rise of the Robots, only a short intro from The Dark, a track taken from his solo album Back to the Light appeared in the final release, while the actual in-game score was done by Mirage. While May did in fact record a full soundtrack to the game, his record company EMI requested numerous delays, which consequently prompted Mirage to proceed without the music rather than having to reschedule the release date.

He also themed Queen's guitarist entitled "Cyborg" (which the album is called Another World) in Rise 2: Resurrection.
